819 - Repackaging ALA Code of Ethics
Repacking the ALA’s code of ethics required me to evaluate the purpose of an ethics statement and to consider what this particular ethics statement might mean to me, as I repackaged this with library students and future professionals in mind. The original code of ethics from the ALA website is found here. The repackaged image (img.pdf) and the description of the process (pdf) are linked below.
NASIG Student Grant Award
Growing professionally in my role in technical services, I pursued a grant to attend the North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG) Annual Conference in Asheville, NC. I was awarded a scholarship and pursued every opportunity to gain the most from this experience. I teamed up with a mentor librarian, I agreed to take notes for the conference sessions, and co-authored and served as lead editor for an article summarizing the conference in Serials Review. I also gathered many ideas that I was able to take back to my institution to expand upon for our own services. But, most importantly I grew as a professional through the networking and development of new professional relationships. And what better way to forge good relationships than over chocolate?
